Spaced Throughout Four Buildings on the Property

The Mad River Barn offers charming boutique lodging in the heart of Waitsfield, VT, just 9 minutes (5.5 miles) from Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak and 3 minutes (1.7 miles) from Mad River Glen. Our family-friendly inn provides cozy accommodations, on-site pub and restaurant, and a complimentary hot breakfast to start your day off right. Whether you’re skiing, hiking, or simply relaxing in the Mad River Valley, the Mad River Barn is the perfect home base for your Vermont getaway.

THE Main BARN

The main building, referred to as “The Barn”, is home to our Pub/Game Room, Dining Room, and eight inn rooms. Each room has a slightly different layout sleeping anywhere from two to eight guests. Three of the rooms are considered “suites”, and are among a few of the most popular on the property.

THE Farmhouse

The Farmhouse bunks are conveniently located just across a covered walkway from the main entrance to The Barn. On the top floor of the building are two “bunk” style rooms, each with six single beds and a private bath. These rooms are great for larger families or small groups staying at the inn looking for a slightly different room setup than our more conventional rooms.

THE longhouse

The Longhouse is located on the North end of the parking lot and includes four rooms. Each room has a Queen bed and 2-4 bunk beds and a private bathroom. The main Barn building is just a short walk across the parking lot, making the Longhouse a great option for a family looking for all of the amenities the Barn has to offer while being just a bit removed from the center of the action.

THE annex

The Annex is located next to the Longhouse, across the parking lot from the main Barn building. Cosmetically renovated a few years ago, each room has a Queen bed and a bunk bed providing accommodations for four guests in each room.

Start your day the right way at the Mad River Barn, where every stay includes a hearty, homemade hot breakfast! Enjoy freshly brewed coffee, juice, fruit, yogurt, granola, and house made pastries in addition to our hot buffet with eggs, home fries, breakfast meats, and pancakes or waffles. Whether you’re hitting the slopes or relaxing in the morning, our delicious breakfast will fuel you for the day ahead! Breakfast is for guests only and is served in the downstairs dining room of the Main Barn, from 7-9 AM.
