The Mad River Barn is located 1.7 miles from Mad River Glen, and 4.8 miles from Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak.
We offer 18 guest rooms, with many different sizes and configurations.
The Barn is a family-friendly Inn and our clientele is often comprised of families traveling with children, especially during ski season and summer vacation. Guests are often up and about early in the morning, anxious to get to the mountain. The guests that will enjoy our experience are those that prefer a social atmosphere and don’t mind the hustle and bustle that inevitably accompanies family life.
GUARANTEE POLICY: While we make every effort to accommodate guest room preferences, please understand that changes are sometimes required. The unique layout of our Inn requires us to adjust room assignments occasionally in order to accommodate families of all sizes. To ensure your reservation is assigned an appropriately sized room, please confirm your reservation reflects an accurate count of the guests included in your reservation.
8 Guest Rooms
Located on the first floor, B1 tends to be one of the quieter rooms on the property.
The Queen and Twin bed are positioned side-by-side. Capacity: 3 Guests
Located on the first floor, B2 overlooks the vegetable gardens and is typically one of the quieter rooms. Capacity: 2 Guests
B3 is our only fully ADA compliant room on the property. This room has ample floor space in both the sleeping areas and bathrooms. The Queen & Twin bed are located side-by-side. It is located on the first floor. Capacity: 3 Guests
Located on the second floor, B4 is one of our large suites in the Main Barn. The first sleeping area when you enter the room contains the Queen bed and a small table & sitting area. The back bedroom consists of four twin beds, one of which is bunk style. The bunk room is separated from the main bedroom by a sliding barn door. The bathroom is located between the two sleeping areas. Some overflow noise can be heard from the lobby and the pub, though it is one of the quieter rooms on the second floor. Capacity: 6 Guests
Located on the second floor, B5 is the second large suite in the Main Barn. The first space you enter into contains the Queen bed and a small desk. The back bunk room is separated by a sliding barn door, and one of the four beds is a top bunk. To access the bathroom guests staying in the bunk room have to walk past the Queen bed. There is some overflow noise from the lobby and pub. Capacity: 6 Guests
B6 is located on the second floor and looks out over the back of the property. Due to its location above reception and near the pub entry there tends to be a bit of overflow noise when events are taking place. The Queen and Twin beds are located side-by-side. Capacity: 3 Guests
B7 is located on the second floor. There is a bit of overflow noise from the Pub & Reception that can be heard during events. The Queen bed is located on a raised platform within the room. Capacity: 2 Guests
B8 is located on the second floor and adjacent to the Pub. There is a staircase within the room separating the Queen bed, downstairs, and the two twin beds, upstairs. Due to the proximity to the Pub there can be significant overflow noise while the restaurant is open. Capacity: 4 Guests
4 Guest Rooms
L1 & L2 are located on the first floor of the Longhouse. The four twin beds are separated from the main sleeping area by a sliding barn door, with two of the twin beds being a top bunk. Both the main sleeping area and bunk room have their own access door to the bathroom. Capacity: 6 Guests
L3 & L4 are located on the second floor of the Longhouse. The two twin beds are separated from the main sleeping area by a sliding barn door, with one of the twin beds being a top bunk. The bathroom is located between the Queen sleeping area and bunk room. Capacity: 4 Guests
4 Guest Rooms
A1 & A2 are located on the first floor. A3 & A4 are located on the second floor. The two twin beds are bunk style and located next to the Queen bed all in one sleeping area. The Annex rooms have both a shower and a bathtub. Each room has a mini fridge and a TV. Capacity: 4 Guests
2 Guest Rooms
FH1 & FH2 are our two bunk rooms, each comprised of six extra long twin beds.
One of the twin beds in FH1 is a top bunk. In FH2, one twin bed is a top bunk and a second twin bed is lofted. Capacity: 6 Guests
Our standard cancellation policy reads as follows:
Cancellations (in whole or in part) received at least 21 days prior to scheduled arrival will be charged a service fee of $25. Cancellations (in whole or in part) received within 21 days will be charged whatever portion of the stay we are unable to re-rent. No shows and early departures are responsible for the full reservation amount.
Our holiday period cancellation policy applies between Christmas & New Years, MLK Weekend, and Presidents Week.
Your reservation falls within a holiday week and therefore requires a 25% non-refundable deposit. Cancellations (in whole or in part) received at least 21 days prior to scheduled arrival will result in forfeiture of the deposit associated with the canceled stay.
For all Reservations: No shows and early departures are responsible for the full reservation amount. No exceptions will be made to this policy for inclement weather. If your plans are weather-dependent, we recommend making a reservation closer to the arrival date, when weather patterns are more certain.
